Push Button Control

Push Button Control

Genesis Rescue Tools come standard with the patented push button control, accessible from 360 degrees. The push button control is a variable speed controller. Lightly depressing the button will feather the speed at which the tool opens or closes. The more you depress the button the faster the tool will operate.

The push button control allows greater safety because the operator can control the tool with only a finger, if need be. The operator can position and operate the tool with less chance of pinching his hand. Traditional twist style controllers require the operator’s entire hand to be gripped tightly on the tool, putting it at increased danger of being trapped between the car and the tool, with no good way to release the power of the tool.

Push Button Control

Fine vs. Gross Muscle Movement:

The Genesis push button control makes use of “fine muscle movement” of the fingers rather than “gross muscle movement” of the larger wrist muscles like traditional “twist” style controllers. Fine muscle movement gives better control when trying to “feather” the speed of the tool, making it safer to use the tool when working it next to a patient with a trapped appendage.
