HS-2 Firefighter Face Mask

The Hot Shield HS-2 Firefighter Face Mask is a multiple layer, patented face protector mask designed by firefighters for use in all wildland firefighting operations. The HS-2 offers unequaled, extreme protection against burns to the face/neck with the added benefit of blocking and reducing the inhalation of smoke and ash particulate. Multiple layers of CarbonX® help maintain the crucial airspace in front of the mouth and nose. The soft comfortable inside liners (also CarbonX®) absorb perspiration, adding to user comfort.

Highly breathable mesh CarbonX® covers the center ventilation orifice allowing easy air exchange and helps prevent buildup of CO2. The patented, user-friendly design allows the firefighter to insert an activated carbon, low cost disposable particle filter w/exhalation valve. (Filters sold separately - not packaged with HS-2) CarbonX® is the only inherently non-flammable revolutionary fiber in the world that will not burn, ignite, char, shrink or decompose at temperatures exceeding 2600 F. even for extended periods of time. The HS-2 weighs 4.0 oz./112 grams, incorporates Scotchlite® Reflective trim for nighttime visibility and is classified as an interface component of Wildland PPE.

HS-4 Respirator Housing

The Hot Shield HS-4 Respirator Housing is extremely heat and flame resistant and is designed exclusively around the Sundstrom SR-100 Half Face Respirator. This Hot Shield housing is constructed of CarbonX®, the only inherently nonflammable fabric in the world.

The HS-4 wrapped around the SR-100 has been designed by firefighters specifically for wildland firefighting, but has found application in other industries that prefer the Sundstrom SR-100 for their employees. The HS-4 CarbonX® Housing matched to the SR-100 is possibly the top of the line facial and respiratory protection option outside of a positive pressure breathing apparatus.

About the Sundstrom SR-100: This half mask air-purifying respirator is a negative pressure respirator that is NIOSH approved to provide protection from certain levels of gases, vapors and /or particulates when equipped with the appropriate chemical cartridge and/or particulate filter. The respirator is designed to provide exceptional safety and comfort, even during long term use.

The Sundstrom SR-100 Half Face Respirator Mask offers the user a high degree of filtration, and allows the employer to fit test individuals (no fabric between the mask and the skin). It also boasts the easiest air exchange available in any half face respirator on the market to date.

The SR-100 is available from authorized Sundstrom Dealers in two sizes; Small/.Medium (S/M) and Medium/Large (M/L). Two exhalation valves and low breathing resistance in the filters ensure an excellent standard of comfort. The respirator body is made of silicone, which makes the mask dimensionally stable, flexible and harmless to the skin.

The newly redesigned UB-V2 offers the top performance protection of CarbonX® , yet doesn't require a filter of any kind.

While the HS-2 has proved itself and is extremely popular, there are some of you who prefer their trusty bandanna yet who realize the limitations of one layer of cotton. It is for this reason we produced the new Ultimate Bandanna. This mask is a nearly 100% fire proof facial protection garment that is easier to don, doff or just hang around your neck than any bandanna you've ever used or seen before.

Ultra Shroud UNI-V2

The Ultra Shroud UNI-V2 from Hot Shield USA is a replacement helmet shroud that is designed to fit nearly every model of wildland helmets of both USA and Australia design, including Morning Pride, MSA, Bullard and others. The Ultra Shroud uniqueness to all other shrouds is that is affords the firefighter respiratory comfort & relief by means of a double layer of CarbonX brand knit mesh in the mouth & nose area overlap area, as well as being the most extremely thermal resistant wildland shroud available. The carbon fiber fabric used is inherently non-flammable and withstands over 2600° F. The Ultra Shroud attaches with Velcro and loop straps in the suspension of the helmet.
