Fire Suppression

Argus Thermal Imaging Cameras

Useful Features

Spot & Ambient Temperature Measurement

Argus includes both Spot & Ambient Temperature Measurement in most of their camera models. The display (as seen in the picture below) lists the ambient temperature at the camera's location and also the spot temperature at a single point in the distance. The TIC “set up” can be programmed to display these temperatures in either Fahrenheit or Celsius.

Argus Temperature Display

Ambient Temperature
Measured from a sensor at the front of the thermal imager.

Spot Temperature
Measured from the pixels in the square in the center of the LCD screen.

The Spot Temperature Measurement can be used to check the temperatures of doors before entering, help in the selection of the hottest cylinders or tanks so removal can take place and determine the spread of a fire inside the building. For accuracy, the Argus4 provides the user with “box” style aiming marks. When this box has been filled the scene temperature will be displayed in the bottom right hand corner.
