Useful Features

Dynamic Scene Colorization

Argus4 cameras have a choice of 13 different color schemes. The most popular for the fire service are Heat Marker and Heat Finder, because they colorize the hottest part of the scene.

The department would likely choose a single color palette to use as default (changeable by the remote control or the software that comes with the thermal imager).

HEAT MARKER - Special Notes

Argus' Heat Marker color palette has several advantages over what competitors offer.

  • There is no need to press a button on the Argus camera to colorize objects. It is automatic!
  • Argus' image colorization works the same through all three gain modes!
Some cameras' image colorization only works in "high gain" mode, and others work only in "low gain" mode.
  • Argus' color scheme is the same through all 3 gain modes (temperature ranges). Yellow, orange and red represent the same temperature regardless of which gain mode the camera is in.
COMPLETE LIST - Argus4’s 13 Color Schemes

Pictures taken in one color scheme can be changed to a different color palette after being taken by using the SceneSave™ image capture software that comes with the TIC. An example of this ability is seen in the images below.
